We enjoy more warm and sunny days than most other places! Andrews enjoys an average of 316 days of sunshine per year and a median temperature of 63 degrees making our climate perfect for those who love to spend time outdoors.

Andrews RecreationStart with an 18-hole golf course, home of PGA's Chad Campbell that ranks as one of the best and least expensive courses in West Texas. The Andrews County Golf course is a beautiful, but challenging course for both amateur and experienced golfers. Use your cart if you wish, and enjoy golf in casual, relaxed surroundings.

Andrews Recreation 2Throughout the year, various organizations in the community offer adult recreational events and leagues. Andrews County has also recently completed its construction of the $3,000,000 Expo Center, which has hosted very successful events so far. In addition, our Senior Activity Center and County Youth Recreation Center also offer many recreational facilities designed to meet the needs of all ages. A variety of recreational opportunities for the youth of Andrews are available such as baseball, basketball, football, cheerleading, tennis, volleyball, softball, and soccer. The programs have produced, among others, collegiate All-American and NFL running back Shaud Williams.

Recreation Andrews 3Residents enjoy a number of public parks conveniently located throughout Andrews. Andrews County offers many acres of community parks and athletic fields containing outdoor grills, picnic grounds, playgrounds, softball fields, as well as basketball and tennis courts. You can take a brisk walk around a park, jump into a refreshing indoor or outdoor swimming pool, fish at City Lake, play tennis all day and night on one of our lighted tennis courts, or just take advantage of the wonderful climate for gardening.

Arts & Entertainment
Andrews Arts EntertainmentAndrews Independent School District offers many avenues for cultural outlets through their local drama, music and arts programs. In addition, the community is exposed to many cultural and art events through local committees and organizations. Residents can participate in family-oriented theater productions or display their talents during the annual Andrews Art Guild Show. The Andrews Art Guild Association offers venues for the many talented area artists whose works include pottery, painting, sculpture, and photography.

Andrews Arts Entertainment 2There are two Bluegrass Festivals held in Andrews each year. The first festival, sponsored by the West Texas Bluegrass Association, is held in June.

The second Bluegrass Festival is always held Labor Day Weekend, sponsored by the Andrews Oddfellows and Rebekah Lodges. Both festivals are held at Andrews County (Florey) Park, 9 miles north and 1 mile east of Andrews.Oddfellows and Rebekah Lodges. Odessa and Midland offer many activities, which residents of Andrews can also enjoy. Community theatres, museums, a symphony and chorale, minor league baseball and hockey games, and arena football games are all within easy driving distance of Andrews.

Andrews is a busy community with a wide assortment of activities from which to choose. You may want to join one our 40 civic groups or get involved in one of our more than 30 churches. In Andrews, involvement is a quality way of life, which you'll find to be quite contagious!
